Critical sag


When the sag of the chain is higher than the allowable sag of the FLB, it is at a critical sag. Avoid using chains in severe sagging, or use special solutions to solve them. Do not install severe sagging on the chain. After a long period of service, the application may drop severely. In this case, the chain or tube should be replaced.

Vertical, Hanging Applications


For suspension applications, CSB-PCC® can achieve a height of more than 100m. Especially in the field of material flow technology, this chain can be bundled to provide a variety of cable types. The use of chains ensures that individual cables will not be entangled in shelves or protruding trays. For vertical suspension applications, we recommend locking the mounting bracket.



Cables and Hoses


Two important factors in vertical suspension applications are how the cables and hoses are placed in the chain and how they are fixed to the end points: all cables and hoses must be suspended so that they can bear their own weight. The chain only has the function of orderly binding of the catheter and should not absorb any further tension. The internal separation element of the chain should be used for the obvious separation of all cables and hoses. The cables and hoses must be carefully secured to the two ends of the chain. The stress relief device must be designed so that the opposite pipeline does not get stuck. Safe strain relief and clear separation of cables and hoses are the basic prerequisites for suspension installation. The cable must be able to move freely and bear its own weight.



Vertical Motion with Lateral Acceleration


If the application has pure vertical motion without lateral acceleration, lateral support is not required. If lateral acceleration occurs, in most cases lateral guidance of the chain must be provided. The figure shows the principle of this guidance. Partial guidance can also be selected, but it must cover at least the area where the chain may swing. Lateral acceleration can occur in two directions. Lateral guides must be installed accordingly. If you can choose, the layout in Figure A is preferred. Then, the lateral acceleration acts laterally on the chain, where it is more stable. When using a guiding device, choose a chain with a camber angle. This ensures that the chain is pressed into the groove.
